Thad Gouge

Thad Gouge, CF (American Farriers Association Certified Farrier)

Thad Gouge began his horseshoeing career in 2000 when he moved to Vermont to apprentice with Journeyman farrier Jason Mulligan.  This apprenticeship opened his eyes to the world of Sporthorse shoeing. After his apprenticeship, Thad stayed in Vermont and operated a successful farrier business where he enjoyed shoeing Sporthorses and working on therapeutic cases. In 2009 Thad, his wife, and two children went to Honduras as volunteer missionaries where they worked as support staff at a boarding school for underprivileged boys.  While in Honduras Thad taught the basics of hoof care to local residents in an effort to improve the quality of life for horses and people in the area.   Having returned to the United States in 2010, Thad and his family relocated to Lexington where Thad joined the Fraley Equine Podiatry team.  When not working at the podiatry shop Thad enjoys spending time with his family.
